Evening,

Whilst the car was in bits I have removed the instrument pod to be recovered as the leather had shrunk, and last year a mouse moved in and chewed through the little flap unde the pod !!

The outside seat bolster on the seat base has started to collapse so i took that apart to get the foam rebuilt.

Looking at these prictures made me wonder. Is this my old Ghibli Cup? My reg was S21 XXX. There can't have been too many silver RHD Ghibli Cups made.

Indeed it is !!
It now has 100,000km's on it

When did you own it ?? - were you the first owner ?
It seems to have lived in italy for a while - some service records from Milan or Rome.

I have had it almost 3 years, I bought it from a man in Greenwich who had in turn bought it from James Paul in Sussex. He did the cam chains, hence i thought it was worth a go.

Costs - ss exhaust, new seals in rear diff, air con - again, front discs. Other than that nothing major, bar the re paint.

Are you going to tell me that when you had it, it was a CAT B write off, and is really 2 cars welded together ....................

If you do PM me ................

Cheers

Del

I have tried to PM you, but I'm not convinced it worked. If you call my office (01258 861059) we can have a chat, but don't panic, the good news is that (as far as I am aware) the car was not a right off or two cars welded together as one!

But, as with any second-hand Ghibli of that time, it was not perfect. In fact I still have a copy of the inspection report produced by Emblem when I bought it. The main problem was that I had the inspection done after I bought it, not before. Schoolboy error! After they had listed the first 42 faults I asked them to stop looking...
