As i mentioned to Birdcage a while back, one of my companies organises road trips and events and has done for a while now. All of us at Petrolhead Nirvana are enthusiasts and we only make enough to cover our costs

So if anyone is thinking of travelling with their car i'm happy to help with advice and pointers as to the best places to stay, the best roads to drive on and what time of year to go. Free advice of course and i'm happy to help with any questions you may have.

Of course we do have a some ready made trips if you prefer to join a group of fun people on tour and i'm happy to arrange some sort of discount for you guys too.
That said we only cater for around 200 people a year on our 8 tours so not everyone can come with us. But because it's important that everyone who travels makes the most of it i'd rather make sure you dont miss a fabulous driving road or good hotel if you're doing it DIY.

so, fire away with the questions or take a look at what we're up to here...http://www.petrolheadnirvana.com/tours/

Hi,

Planning the Honeymoon for next year and as Sophie [wife to be] loves sports cars too, we will be taking in the european roads in the Maser...unless the wedding gift is a Lambo!. We have done the normal passes in the alps and found them too crowded with motor bikes and prefered the N85 from Grenoble to Grass.

Plans for next year include Paris, Champagne, Prague, Como [Engaged there] and back up the Napolian to the Loire. We know France very well but would like some advice on routes/hotels for the Prague & Austria bit before we hit Italy

Sure no worries,

what time of year are you getting married  and how long are you going away for?

Nirvana

We're  about to plan our 2 week break from mid-June. Our intention is to take the tunnel, drive up through Belgium, skim the south of Holland, down through Germany and Austria, along the top of Italy, through Switzererland and home through France.
We want to avoid the motorways, except in Germany, to see the countries, meet the locals and enjoy the sights. We don't mind driving 8 hours a day but we don't want to drive every day.
Our intention was to pick up some maps this weekend and start the planning so we would be very interested in any suggestions you have.
