I had to replace the wiper motor on my Ghibli, so I thought that I'd share the experience. This method may apply to all of the Biturbo range. Open the bonnet and remove the cowl which is at the rear of the engine bay. It is held in place with self tapping screws, which, once removed, allow the cowl to be lifted away at the front edge and then skid forwards. You will then see the wiper motor attached to, and beneath the wiper linkage. The technique is to remove the wiper motor from the linkage, upside down, so it will test your dexterity. ***MAKE SURE THAT THE WIPER ARMS ARE IN THE PARKED POSITION BEFORE PROCEEDING*** This assembly is attached to the bulkhead by a frame which is secured to the bulkhead by two nuts. Remover these nuts and raise the assembly as far as is possible without bending it. Support it with a block of wood to make as much room as possible beneath the motor. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical plug from the motor. The wiper motor spindle is attached to the linkage at the centre by a single 13mm-headed nut. Unscrew this and the motor can then be separated from the linkage by levering it with a flat blade. The wiper motor is attached to the frame with 3 10mm-headed bolts. Unscrew these and the motor will come away from the frame and can be manouevred out. BEFORE FITTING THE REPLACEMENT MOTOR, MAKE SURE THAT IT IS IN THE PARK POSITION. This can be achieved by connecting it to the electrical plug and operating the wipers. You will see that it will always rest in a certain position when the switch is set to its 'off' position. Manouevre the motor into position and attach it to the frame. Make sure that the wiper blades are in the 'park' position and then attach the spindle to the motor. Let the frame rest in its normal position and then check the wipers for operation. Finally, re-secure the frame and re-fit the cowl. Duncan
