Hi, some of you will probably think that this is a stupid question.  I noticed that after I've taken the car for a drive and I've parked it, I can hear a distinct noise made by air that leaks out of the fuel tank from where I fill it with gas. Is this normal and have you noticed the same thing happening with your cars ? I have a 3200 GT.
Thanks for your input

Hi Bruno,

Not a silly question, a good  one.

I have not noticed any noise from my car. I do know that there can sometimes be pressure build up do to the petrol warming up a little, perhaps after a run or when sitting in the sun. However a good filler cap should hold the pressure in unless its too much where it will release some.

However if it is happening often then maybe you need to replace it? Do get it checked as it can be dangerous, someone lighting a cigarete nearby and boom!

Cheers
Gavin
