I have a question re alloys.

A car has two lanch alloys - either silver or grigio mecury

Say buyer picks silver.

Subsequent buyer wants GM.

Now I know you can paint them.

But is the result the "same" as getting original GM alloys? Is it an inferior product / look in the end?

Is it a case of having to exchange completely the alloys to achieve the intended original ("purist") look?

Is it really just a case of painting over?

Can someone explain the exact process from new?

thanks

in some instances the place doing the work may do a better job than the factory, for example, when I get any wheels done, they are polished all the way through to the back, no cast or rouch painting in sight, I've always found this to be much better then the originals, the only exception was my subaru, it had gold wheels all the way though (bit bling, but I was young)

so as long as they are done professionally and to the right colour match then I would think they may be better than when they left the factory
