Hi all,

it has been some time. Hope everyone is fine in here.

I have an issue with central locking. Well it does not work! It happened as usually these things do happen, suddenly, today after having taken the car for a drive and everything working fine when at home at garage and went and opened the boot with the alarm on the alarm went off. I disarmed it and from then on the central locking does not work. It does not lock when unlocked, and it does not unlock when locked. I have tried all tricks in the book (reset the battery, resync the key, even oiling the locks). Alarm seems to be working fine (arming and disarming) but with no relevant lock unlock action.

Any thoughts very welcome.

Best,

Giannis

Might be the fuse, if your cigarette lighter works its not the fuse.. Cheers, Zombie

thanks for the suggestion,

the cigarette lighter works and in any case the central locking from what I know are not connected to any fuse (might be woring but i remember reading this somewhere). They draw nominal electricity directly from the circuit. thanks anyway. any other suggestions welcome.

At least in a 3200GT, there is a fuse for sure (I can tell you how I know... :) ) If I'm right, it is a 25A one located in the fuse box that is in the passenger compartment (in an LHD car at least), check the user manual, it is listed

Hi

In the manual fuse 19 in the passenger compartment fusebox is shown as a 25amp controlling the door locking control unit. I have never had to locate my  fusebox but  in the manual the it is shown beneath the glove box on LHD drive cars, I think on RHD cars it beneath the carpet in the drivers footwell.

had a very similar issue with my 3200. turned out to be the power feed (big fat cable!) just above the fuse and relay board in the foot well. there are two nuts bolting these cables through the bulkhead to the engine bay and onwards to the starter. Had issues starting even though battery was charged as well which you don't have. not sure if its the same on the 4200 but worth a look!

cheers

My central locking has given up completely - I now have to manually unlock the drivers and passengers doors and to lock too. Can't get to the bottom of it and don't want to end up with two keys. Still working on it and will let you know if I get to a solution

Hi all,

just an update. In my case it was the central locking motor that went. I had it changed and now everything works as it should. Hope you find the solution to your problem Phil.

Best,

Giannis
