Who does everyone recommend for the best detailing service?

including machine polishing and a zymol treatment.

should anything else be included?

costs?

This is one place in Bristol that offers the SwissVax treatment:

http://www.cliftoncarcare.co.uk/
(now Project Karma)

Check the gallery section, you'll see one or two familiar motors

Around 300 quid for the full shebang, a little less for exterior only.

they are close to DL - it could straight there.

but if I am back in london to do it at some future stage - who would be best ? still them?  - they seem to come to you for a fee.

anyone got a view on these people v say emblem?

the swissvax I take it is the best - better than zymol?

I used the same as Pat [Masersod] Blue 4200 in the gallery. The owner Zaf will travel as per site cost and is much cheeper than DL. It took him close to 14 hours on mine...best £325 I have ever spent.

The products are great and I have bought over £300 of them to keep on top of the car, and as they contain no abrasives no damage is caused to the paint.

Dick Lovett Swindon will charge dealership prices for their work, but don't necessarily do it in house. When I asked them about wheel refurbs, they quoted me 160 per wheel. I later found out that the work was done by some guy they bring in. I suspect it is the same chap who Cortese use, and Cortese charge around 50 quid a wheel.

I wouldn't pay 600 quid plus for a machine-based detailing - for that price I want someone to polish the car bit by bit, and by hand (which Zaff does, painstakingly). I let him use Swissvax, then I use Zymol in the interim. Personally, I think the wax/polish is less important than the procedure, ie getting the dirt out and then polishing carefully.

If you are serious about keeping your car (to be) in top nick (Nick), then get a core of people you trust to look after it. I have my own, which involves lots of travel (mainly to Wales) but the inconvenience is more than outweighed by the peace of mind I get.

I wont be using DL for a detailing service - well over the top.

If this pans out , I will give this fellow a go.

how long did your cars continue to look great after the detailing?

core group - thats exactly what I plan to do.

I hope their refurb comes up great - they claim it will - "as new"  - we'll see  - no actual price mentioned for that - part of overall deal - which we are some way from striking.

Took mine round Europe the next day [As you do]...it rained for 12 days, but just a hose pipe over the body made it shine again.

I have topped up with SV since and the car always comes up stunning with little effort. It is going for a its yearly scrub next month.

I also reccomend www.gleamingkleen.co.uk He did my 4200 and his rates are very reasonable, I believe he is a swissvax authorised detailer...... and only uses Swissvax Divine wax (£1500)

Can I just put in a good word for Francis Maloney of Emerald Detailing www.emerald-detailing.com. He gave my GT4200 the full treatment yesterday (yes Sunday!) as I wanted it done before going away this week and that was the only available date. He arrived at 8.30 am and spent the whole day preparing, machine polishing and waxing the car. He left at 8.00 pm having only just finished.

His attention to detail was excellent, he uses the Swissvax 'Best in Show' wax which is (only!) £130 per tub, and the results are fantastic. The car looked good before, but now looks a whole shade 'darker' black, with no trace of swirls or scratches. He charged £300 for nearly 12 hours work at my home on a Sunday, plus an 80 mile round trip for him. I'd never had a car 'detailed' before but having done it I reckon its £300 very well spent. Will be keeping it gleaming with a regular wash/wax myself from now on , but I'll certainly be getting Francis back every year

P.S. The £300 was for a full 'restore and protect'. Annual 'top ups' to the wax finish would only be half a day and £150 each time.
