How do you clean yours?
Mine could do with a little clean up , I dont have a power washer ( probrably just as well), Do you just use some soap and water or some other cleaning agent. Im a little reluctant to put water into the engine bay , because Im sure it will get where its not supposed to go.
cheers

Hi Louie,

I would be reluctant to put a high pressure hose in the engine bay. Regular wiping with a cloth and soapy water keeps it looking clean for me.

Regards,
Povoro

Yes I agree with Povoro, I'd never jet wash the engine, I think a lot of Biturbos suffered this treatment, hence the cracked red paint on the plenums and cam covers. Also water will find it's way into places that won't do the engine or the electrics any favours.

I buy the non abbrasive sponges from Tesco, I'll get through maybe two six packs or more at a time, maybe a six pack of Heineken as well if I'm really enjoying myself.

Use a de-greaser and wipe off with a damp cloth afterwards, I don't  use any soap as it does not remove oil or grime especially well.

go in to a motorcycle shop the sells  bidegradable cleaners that you rinse off afterwards with a light spray or the hose, not jet wash. Wrap a cloth around anthing that looks electical.  Works for me great!.

Deffo no jet wash, a garage jet washed my engine after an oil leak, they managed to remove the grease out of the sealed bearings in my alternator, now it make a litte whine when the engine gets warm.....d'oh!
