Hi chaps,

It's renewal time for my GranSport. I've been offered £770 for the next 12 months. Does this sound reasonable based on the following?

age: 39
points: 0
no claims: 5 years
car parked in secure offstreet parking in Bristol City centre (BS1)
car is 2 years old

I'm tempted just to renew but if I can slice a £100 or so off that quote then I might put the time in to ring around the brokers.

cheers,

pat

Pat,

I was on a single car policy with Admiral and live close to you. I changed the policy when I got a second car onto their multi car policy…I was pleasantly surprised to find it was cheaper than having just the Maserati on its own!!! [Got a refund of £95].

My circumstances are different to yours as I have [fingers crossed, touch wood] 22 years no claims, but I'm the same age etc. Final quote was £640 for both vehicles [4200 cc & Mark 1 Golf GTI Cabriolet]

May be a bit late on this but try Maserati Insurance, it is run by Marsh. I got a quote around £450 if memory serves me. Only stipulation was that it had a tracker, which it already had.

Hi There - I'm new to this forum but thought I'd join as I am having my Gransport delivered this Friday - can't wait!

I have just been quoted £685 with both myself and wife as drivers, unlimited mileage, RG20 postcode including business use - I'm 35 and thought that was great - only £90 more than my 8 year old Audi A6 Avant!

Just got a multi car quote for three cars from Admiral which was competitive. However when I asked about paying monthly they stuck on over £200 in charges!

Eventually put the A4 cab on in place of the MG ZTT, and moved the MG over to Maserati Insurance (Marsh Private Clients) who offered me multi car and matched my NCB, something that Admiral was not going to do.

Total for the three cars, fully comp is £940 and each has its own insurance certificate and earning me seperate NCB's

£650 with 12 years protected no claims - 2 cars, old git, unlimited miles including business, replacement equivalent car, breakdown cover etc. but must be garaged. With Royal & Sun Alliance, through broker. Mrs as named driver brought the cost down a bit - not that I ever let her drive it. Not too bad really.

Another option is Chubb. They offer a gold plated policy - agreed value etc, though they are not cheap.

Saw this today, I'm guessing most of you have read it already, if your choice of newspaper is on par with your taste in cars of course.

If you read The Guardian however, please sell your Maserati, then click on the following link instead

I am still shoping for insurance.

And I am just getting screwed - admittedly agreed value, my choice of repairer etc - very full and top end cover  but ...

Being new in the UK is apparently the problem - no history etc.

The difference between 24 hr security car park and parking on the road was 89 quid only - I cant understand why.

Compared to the quotes you are getting, its a joke - no bad history, nothing.
