Just a quick FYI, I've just sorted my insurance for the GS (did I mention I'm getting one? :D ) - after several recommendations for Aplan, I gave them a call.. 2.2k! ouch... where as Admiral was 861 (obviously apples for apples, fully comp, protected, & with the missus on)

Enjoy

Insurance Brokers don't weem to have much continuity these days.....I have just renewed with A Plan but it took quite a bit of verbal battering over several calls to several people before they came round to my way of thinking!

I have both masers with them and have used them before with the M3 but they suddenly ramped the renewal up for no apparent reason. Anyway the Spyder is now down to a very modest £450 including full business use but it took some time.

It really does seem to depend on who you speak to and their frame of mind!

Cheers Rob.

Thats not an option ! tongue in cheek surely. All that was missing really when it was built was the bar compartment (could possibly retrofit above the rear fridge if a donor could be found - unlikely), perforated valcona (Air conditioned seats the Satin Nappa is nicer leather anyway) and solar sun roof (which blocks out a fair bit of light could retro fit out of a d2 if I really wanted) Post build December 05 they added B&O stereo (Bose still very very good) and ceramic brakes (retro fit possible if I could find a donor car - likely)

After that you are into audi customised paint and interior options, suede headlining etc. You can spec the W12 up to £120,000+ if you really wanted to. Thats Bentley continental country (which actually shares the same engine).

I looked for a long time for that car on the used market it took over a year to find the one I wanted. The w12 is a rare car anyway this one more so as its the swb which went out of production when the d3 s8 was released. Only a handful of swb w12s every came into the UK.

The only w12 I have even seen with a higher spec was at an Audi dealer in Berlin.  They had a £120k + w12 with the missing options and suede headlining.

This car originally belonged to a senior manager at Audi UK hence the spec.

Thats still a pretty cool reg. They are not that common cars so you can get some nice plates for them.
