I've just had my renewal come in from Admiral and it was just shy of £1000 fully comp, which is outrageous considering last year it was circa £700.

I filled in my details into Elephant.co.uk and they came back with £670 which seemed okay but not as cheap as you guys were getting....so....

I called Michael Ward and spoke to Ben. He managed to get my 3200 added onto a Modern Day Classic Car policy for £385!!! Top marks for Ben at Michael Ward.
Additionally this price includes UK Roadside Assistance thrown in and legal cover...

3200GTA, 3000 miles per year, central london postcode, secure garage, owned for 3 yrs, 6 points in last 5 years but none now, wife as additional driver. 6 yrs protected ncb, 350 excess.

Just getting a few insurance quotes, unfortunately....

http://www.michaelwardassociates.com/

Can't quote for N Ireland which is a pity, so have trawled the comparison sites......

The moneysupermarket site brought up 44 quotes out of approximately 111 companies...best one was for £643, full NCB protected, myself and wife, business use, on driveway.

Curiously on the gocompare site ( 35 out of 115) the same company is £55 more!

Pays to spend an hour or so doing some research!

If you're using a comparison site it might also be worth checking out the Daily Mail comparison site, which is a licenced version of beatthatquote.com The difference is that they give you £20 cash back on top of their best deals. No other comparison site gives cashback as far as I'm aware.

This always was a problem in NI as you will know well. If you have another car to insure it might be worth trying the Admiral multi car policy. On it my Maser is £500 fully comp and the Alfa £170, even though I now have no no-claims on the Alfa.

Cheers

Nigel

PS did you find anyone to service your car in NI yet?

nfm, the guy at Wards said the companies they deal with run "parrallel" offices for the NI population, he couldn't access quotes via the NI offices....but yet lots of the main UK companies were quoting via the comparison web sites!

Yes, I have a phone number for a guy out of Newry, i asked Maranello house if its ok to pass on( no reply 2weeks later), plus a taxi driver mentioned Beechill motors, apparently their main guy is Ferrari/Maserati trianed.......yellow pages?

Let me know how you get on!

Easily the cheapest out there, just don't want them to be the worst!!
