Hi
I was looking to buy one of these too, but if they have stopped responding I will wit can you update me when you hear from them. Also do you have the one with the Aux, if so how do you switch it?

I've got the AUX one, and you have to assign one of the CD's using the Loudlink Explorer software first.

Hi Craig,

to turn on the AUX socket you have to use the PC app 'Loudlink explorer'. You use this to load the different folders on the SD card with the songs you want, each folder corresponds to one of the CD's on the multi changer. You can specify one folder to use the AUX port instead of the SD card and when you select that 'CD' on the head unit it just plays whatever source is coming in through the AUX socket. So for example if you specify CD5 as the AUX, when you select CD5 on the head unit and plug your iphone into the loudlink it will play.

I tested this when I got it and it seemed to work fine but I haven't yet run a cable through to the boot compartment so don't use it with my iphone. May try it out in the spring. :-)

Hi
Thanks for the help guys, I am going to go for one of these, one thing I do have at home is a bluetooth to AUX adaptor so I can stream music from my iphone/nokia 5800 to my amp without the wires, if they did a car charger for this do you know where I could get power from in the boot as this would mean no terrible wires and possibly give me a limited bluetooth car kit function. Just have to use the mic on the phone.

Nice motors by the way

Hi Folks

Finally decided to get some ipod/sd card connectivity for the car (03 4200 spyder) and these loudlink units seem pretty cool.

I may be missing something but when I last looked at the cd changer in the boot the cable disappeared into the depths of the wing and it was hardwired into the changer....whereabouts in the car does this unit connect? I.e. wheres the other end of the changer cable!?

Is it under the arm rest as I saw mentioned elsewhere or is that the plug for the single unit (used for satnav)

Cheers

Dave

Has anyone heard from Arnold recently? He never got back to me after my last email.

BTW Has anyone else had a problem with Loudlink explorer under win7? It just won't work on my PC and there doesn't appear to be a fix on their website. Are they still trading? I get no reply to emails.

Jagpurr - Many thanks. I'll keep watching the website. If Arnold lets you know about a win7 version could you please post the news here?

Cheers

Well the Loudlink arrived and apart from an incorrect cable being supplied (new one sent very quickly) installed directly into the armrest very neatly.

Worked first try but I can only get CD1 and occasionally CD2 to play CD3, CD4 and AUX do not show...

I will mess around with flashing firmware to see if I can get around this and will let you know.

Cheers

Hmm, anyone heard from Arnold recently? Been having a few recurrent probs with the loudlink (it looses track of disk 2 and claims there is no disk loaded). A reboot fixes it but it's a pain to keep opening the boot to do it. I was having email discussions with Arnold before Christmas, and he said they were working on new firmware, but now he's stopped responding? The problem is intermittent, but annoying enough that If it's not fixed I'll start looking for other (hardware) solutions.

Just an update to the above. The intermittent problem of the loudlink not 'seeing' CD folders kept recurring for several weeks and nothing I tried would fix it. I tried new SD cards, reformatting, re-installing the firmware, diferent versions of the firmware, everything. The problem kept coming back. Arnold made several suggestions but they didn't solve it and eventually I think he got fed up with me and stopped replying. I was on the point of giving up on the loudlink as 'a good idea, but a bit heath robinson' when for totally unrelated reasons i had to 'reboot' the Maz. (you know switch off the battery in the boot, wait five minutes switch it back on). This fixed the other problem I was having but ALSO!!! cured the loudlink problem. It's been fine ever since, completely 100% reliable

So if anyone else is having intermittent 'cant read the disk' errors, try a reboot of the car.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a win7 version of loudlink explorer, but that's only a nice to have, not a requirement.

Identical problems tried re-flashing to very latest version caused error so re-formatted a 128mb SD card as FAT16 added 2.2.0 flash directly onto card and reloaded with just 4 tracks in CD's 1,2,3&4 (5 ticked as AUX). Also did Main battery off (whilst doing other works removing tracker) worked a treat; I now have 8Gb card loaded with thousands of tracks working fine just frustrating 'POP' from static occasionally and tyresome proggressing one track at a time for short trips: may have to change default to 'shuffle'....
