It is often difficult to verify the exact production figures and specifications for limited editions, and it can be in manufacturers' interests to create a bit of mystique about them for marketing purposes. However, Maserati didn't need to do that, although differing accounts of AC numbers and specs appeared in the media both pre and post launch.

Stephen is correct about the white cars, and a surprising number of exterior/interior colour combinations was produced. I believe the total AC production was a lot less than 350.

Congratulations Tattieman,
I think it is obligatory on the Forum to post details of the car, i.e. colour / manual or auto, and preferably to include photos!
Are you located in the UK or is this another maserati that ha smade its way down under to the antipodes?

Hi Mine is certainly an Assetto Corsa as the Australian specification differs to UK models. I purchased it from the authorised dealer for Ferrari/Maserati. It has the plaque on the glovebox, correct wheels, perforated leather etc. It also featured in 2 magazines at the time as the new Assetto Coras. So I have doubt about it's authenticity. It seems it was the 1st delivered such model.

what is perforated leather.

Now (thanks to how many left) we know that there are 48 AC's left registered in the UK.

I saw one poor car needing a lot of work a few months ago YK51 NPN. It was black and had had a rough life. Last seen in the Luton area.

I also saw a silver car in Henley, BU51 FZL.

I'm positive I read the 350 AC's produced world wide number somewhere. I'll try & dig it up, don't know how reliable this figure is!  I think the AC is the one to have and will be in demand some day, hopefully I'll be around to see it!

Regards,

Terry

Its still for sale, is it a realistic price?
Could be quite tempted, but is so little usage a problem?

Cheers,
Mike

Hello everyone
I'm new to the forum and in the market for an AC in Grigio Touring, ideally a manual. Looking at the numbers and assuming there were 25 made in each colour, possibly more GTAs than GTs and based on those which have been exported or scrapped, I guess I am looking for 1 of less than 10 possible cars.
I have been reading the posts on this thread with interest and wanted to ask if there is an update on the numbers between the various colours & transmissions?
I did see a nice Grigio Touring GTA for sale at the end of last year for a very reasonable £13,500 which was # 75 and had around 41k miles. I almost went for it by way of compromising the transmission but decided to hold out for a manual.
I know that # 52 is for sale in Leeds at moment for £12,995 but it is CAT D with an o/s/f repair involving a bumper, fan, a repaired (not replaced) wing but would rather avoid anything that is on the register.
Does anyone know of anything available now or due to come onto the market?
Thanks everyone

I know of one Grigio Touring that is about to come for sale but it's only done about 18000 miles so is spotless. PM me if interested, obviously it's not £15k but it's not unreasonable.

Hi LincsOSCA... I have tried to collate a bit of information on the 75 UK Assetto Corsa's, and although my list is in no way complete (and if anyone spots an error or omission, please let me know), the following cars are: Silver Manuals: #01- #36 - #52 - #64 - #74 Silver Automatics: #50 (in Australia) - #54 - #58 - #75 Silver, but I'm unsure on the transmission: #38 - #57 - #63. Please note that #54 may need a bit of work though - refer http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking2.asp?page=17

Thanks very much Robert for the information and yes, the chasis on poor # 54 may well be a little out of line but nice to see a spider version of the AC!

This is # 52 for sale in Leeds at the moment. Looking back over this thread, it was for sale on Ebay, pre repair in March '09 for £6,300 as a Cat C. The repair looks ok from the photos but I haven't seen the car in the flesh.

This AC was forsale last year too, from the picture it definatley looks like there is a problem with the front offside wheel arch where it meets the bumper and the lhs front wheel arch looks iffy too. My picture of the rear 3/4 view really shows the poor front wheel arch alignment..AVOID!

    Hi Stuart,

Yes we feel lucky and proud to have the last one. She will get the very best of care and attention, in fact she is going in to our local body specialist for a pedicure and full detailing next week, hopefully the snow will have gone.
She will be joining the Sports Maserati Forum trip to Monaco in April, I think there is about 14 cars going down so far.

    Cheers
    Robert
