Fortunately 90%  i have reserved curtesy of David Askew  only a few bits to get from eurospares   so watch this space  for progression  should be all done and dusted hopefully in 4-5 weeks  or sooner but i wont let the body shop rush iti want it done pucker and loads of  deep laquer    Ive asked Brian to move this thread to Owners running reports

regards lozcb

Well done Loz, look forward to the report and pictures.

Looking at the colour you could just strip off the front of the 4200 and stick it on the GS

Believe me William its crossed my mind , be far cheaper to return the 4200 to its former glory, but i put my heart and soul into that car and its exactly how i wanted it  and feel attached to it   wonder whether the same will happen with the GS,
Got to grips with giving the interior a good clean, came up great and  stripping the front yesterday and adding to the initial parts list,  found a few hidden  brackets that are bent  and broken h/lamp washer pump broke   easily sourced later on today i hope

regards loz

Nice clean interior, and part stripped , well pleased thats the damage  is so light thought we would have at least bent the front cross member but its untouched , few extra cheapish bits needed  but thats to be expected always build in a contingency amount for the unforseen   Seems you can now only upload one pic per message god this will take forever

Doesn't look too bad at all Loz. Is that the only damage?

Very Minor skirt damage, split about  an inch towards the rear wheel and a load of surface scratch marks on off/side wing and door  which have penetrated the laquer but not the paint so hopefully will have all that side prepped and  resprayed

regards loz

Hard to believe that's a write off for a £30k car!!

Looks good Loz, love the white piping in the interior!

And if you do return the 4200 to it's former glory, I'll have first dibs on the barge boards and the back bumper!

Been an eventful week as it turns out , after the disasterous Monday when i went to pick up two GS front bumpers along with other stuff, one for me and one for Lewis , turned out the one that i had only partially seen  which i had earmarked for Lewis  was worse than originally seen, so i came back without it , and met a gutted and disheartened Gent outside my house (Lewis) , could see all his best placed plans re having his car prettied to take on his holls were turning to dust , after a coffee and  a few phone calls to try and source another to no avail, a dejected Lewis climbed back into his van and returned to Bristol .I felt really gutted for him  especially sitting with one on the 4200 and one on the drive ,
Tues recieved a phone call from Lewis , with a plan    cut a long story short  I let him talk me into letting him have mine with an agreement  that if i wasn't able to source another by the time my body shop was ready for it ,  he would half share to order a new.
one .
Now to arrange getting it to emblem , to enable the body shop to have it all sorted and painted by the time all his upgrades are fitted.
So off i trotted this morning to the bodyshop to collect my bumper, walked into the prep shop and   Wow cant believe what they have achieved in just a few days   , it was up on the  bench gig ( i insisted that altho the damage was REALLY  light  that its checked with the necessasary gig plates)   job done and as expected all spot on , offside skirt  all repaired and in primer , rear bumper prepped and in primer and provisionally  fitted  before painting  so whole of rear end all prepped and ready   Result   they have been busy  so now they are about to start on the front end   once i have aquired the remaining bits , feel pleased as punch   i didnt expect  them to have started  seeing as it was only delivered  Tues morning

Will post some pickies as soon as

regards loz

Loz the rest of us only seem to have 24hours in a 7 day week....how do you get 25 hour days and 8 day weeks? great to hear how fast the project is moving!!

By the way with all these distractions...did you manage to follow up on the Ghibli you mentioned at Bristol? Is it a Manual?
