Cheers Mark , your spot on  having to try and put it to the back of my mind sort of   so that i can get some work done ,   What is it about Maserati 's that do this to a man , done loads of cars in the past  with no anxiety whatsover , Bloody italians have got under my skin again   never been like this with anything German or British for that matter  now ive put my self through it twice in 2 years  glutton eh     But it WILL  be worth it

regards loz

Loz, have you seen THIS?

Next project after the GS.........? I can't work out if it's a bargain or not. Used value c.£60k-£65k* cat D value repaired say 25%* less, so £45k-£49k* How much would repairs total - perhaps £5k* ?

If my assumptions were in any way correct, a Gran Turismo for c.£40k......hmmmmmmm.........

*all estimates, based upon absolutely no facts whatsoever. Please feel free to correct me or add your own unfounded values.

Bollocks     , Mark  how the heck did i miss that one  Im Gutted   was holding off for a good 4-5 months in the hope a Tourismo came up ,    iused to reguarly visit SWS site untill i realised that they buy from a,lot of the places i do and just put a mark up on and sellem on , so i stopped looking at there site ,  mmmm gutted      but the good news is that the price for Tourismo cat d     direct fron main salvage sites will be around 26-28k    Now that is Good news    if i had the spare cash    but more importantly the spare  time  i would go for it

have a crack at it Mark  looks  a right easy repair on the surface, needs closer inspection , parts arent too expensive either considering, ive been checking certain parts over the last year for tourissies and there coming down a little

I was just having a look at that, not sure about the damage in front of the O/S/R wheel - needs (as Loz says) a very close inspection.

You can't beat a full set of new boots. Buy the fronts and either sell the Michelins on fleabay or keep them as spares. You know it's the right thing to do!

If you drive the car properly, and I am sure you will Loz, you'll soon get the tread down on those rears level with the fronts ;) Then you can do them all in one go.

Well guys,   happy to announce the GS will be on my drive sat morning,  spent most of today putting on the front bumper , and the headlights in place  and must say,,,,,, the car well      looks like my  4200  outside at least,  but shinier   , Derek the owner insists that he wont let me bring it home tomorrow as he is giving it a full days pucker valet , he wants to badge it up put on the new private plates and then  wants to take picks to plaster his office with    who am i to complain , but i  do really get a kick out of doing that stuff meself   but hey ho, project nearly over just the mods to sort out

Prospeed total decat with new sports cats, also with new stainless rear boxes with the GS valves adapted    then some lowering and spacers (already have 275 rear tyres )  and possibly the  FD/ DBW  if all the teething is sorted out by then , and if the bank balance allows it possibly the ecu chip aswell , must stress  the FD stuff depends on it being 100%  sorted with a few happy customers  trouble free and ecstatic,

Having talks with a company  close to Milton Keynes who do a lot of carbon fibre work  for a few of the well known F1 teams, trying to get a fixed price  and final design for an extended  front splitter ,   if its reasonable money then i'll have a go
If it looks attractive  and more importantly does the job any one else fancy the idea of it  my ease the price if they thought there might be future business in it for them

Then im bloody well gonna enjoy it  to the full ,

Oh will post a full set of pics on Monday   in fact i;ll probably nick some of Dereks

regards loz

Cant believe how quiet the Gransport is , had my first real drive tonite about  30 miles  really just to clean the discs off as she,s been idle for 3 months , and even in sport mode sounds quiet compared to the Tubi's on the 4200, agree whole car feel a lot tighter hard to say whether its faster , gear changes more positive and certainly a more together car only just a couple of notches on the 4200   mileage on both cars is very similar  GS 31k      4200 34k and is spot on performance wise,  so Gs is  Not the startling drastic change  some have led to believe,  but im happy with it ,  Once the mods are done , maybe that will give me  the surprise i thought i was going to have.

Will post some all round picks  when i have  an hour or two to spare

regards loz

Great stuff Loz, congrats!

I think after a few high speed bends, you'll notice a starker difference between the two cars

Just been on to Larrini, I really have got to get the exhaust sorted sounds like a lame mute, compared to the 4200 ,

Right result, seems Larrini are already into advanced stages of producing rear boxes with the  intergrated valve system, great news in itself,   now what i really want  is LOUD LOUD   when on,    and a little bit louder than stock  when off   lets hope we can work together to produce that Infamous 430 scream  , so waiting for a call on tuesday when David  from Larrini is back at work Wannit now

Regards loz

Loz - good news on the gs mate!

might be interested in jumping in with you on the front splitters, subject to pics and the price?

and like BigFoot says, get in on a big sweeper and take a look at the speedo!

.

Loz, I hear you my friend - I feel your pain. I sometimes wonder if I miss the noise of my 4200 Larini exhaust, more than the car I had the full turbo/manifold back set up in my 3200, so try and get the full kit from them, as they develop all their components to work together.  A GS with Larini de-cats/sports cats/centre pipe/valved rear mufflers I believe would sound absolutely immense!!!!!!!!!! and far better than a 'powerflow/mufflershop' system and would be just what you need to fall in love with your new stead. Their stuff ain't the cheapest but it is the best: http://www.larinisystems.com/video.php
