Check what they mean by 'just serviced'. Mine was serviced at a main dealer just before I bought it but even though the miles were a couple of hundred under 30k they only did an annual service rather than the 31k service (£700 more expensive). I'm now at 31k two months later wondering what to do. Its very tempting to wait until the car's fifth birthday in nine months time and get the 31k service done then at about 35k at Graypaul Edinburgh or MP. MP have been recommended to me by someone I trust so I will be at least having a chat with them.

The 31k is a biggy, where everything is to be checked, and more scheduled replacement of parts. You may find GrayPaul pricey on the all extra things that need doing. MP would be a better bet in this instance I reckon. Nothing worse than a man dealer handing you a list of things that need doing - with an OTT quote too, where an Indy will do just as good a job for half the price normally.

Congrats on the new Maserati and welcome to the forum.

It's definitely worth the time to reset the clock on all service items to be sure that your car is in good health and that any potential problems are caught early.  Owners tend to let the service trail off a bit when they're thinking about selling.

If you haven't yet had the equivalent of a full PPI done by a competent Maserati outfit, now may be a good time to peform the diagnostics.

Best Regards,
-- Jeff

Peter

Great to hear you got a car. Off on hols now for 2 weeks touring Wales/Devon/Cornwall in the 4200 but it would be great to catch up when I get back. A trip to Arran might even suit me; to my lasting shame I have yet to make it despite living in Ayr for 6 years.

Cheers

Waiting to hear if Peter successfully picked up his car at the week end?

Also note the 16th August Italian car/bike outing to Hopetoun.

Other than that my brother may be coming over from NZ for a holiday. Once he confirms his plans I will be clear to book a w/e in Arran and will get back to you then if OK.

Cheers

The gathering at hopetoun looks interesting, should we contact the guy and get display tickets for the three masers to make sure we get in?

Its next week so i guess we better get organsied if we are going to do some thing?

Hopetoun being in Edinburgh it seems unlikely we could do Arran and edinburgh in one weekend? although more driving might be a bonus

i will have to get down from Abernowhere anyway so i guess Arran followed by Edinburgh is possible?

What are you two thinking?

I have already confirmed with Paul re Hopetoun and booked a slot. As to Arran not sure how best to weave it into arrangements. I had been minded to book one or 2 nights accommodation and take the good lady wife, making a mini break out of it.

My brother from NZ will be over w/c 21/9 and it is now a question of whether he wants to see us in Ayr (and we would then do Arran as well) or if we trip over to Ireland as had been considered and then pick him up on the way to Westport, Mayo etc.

Sorry to be vague but arrangements still a tad up in the air.

Your thoughts, and how are you fixed Peter??

Cheers
