Gah! Unfortunately I'll not be able to make it as I'm still in Angola until October. :-(

I have heard back from Brooklands, and the club house is not officially open on that day but depending on numbers, I may be able to organise something with the catering company to serve lunch in the club house bar. This is the part of the old club house that you can see on the first floor left hand side, has the balcony over looking the paddock area.

Can we have a show of hands for lunch on Saturday at Brooklands so I can see what's going to be possible?

Regards

David

As long as it is not too late as I need to pick my son up afterwards, I would definitely be up for lunch so have added myself but the formatting has gone odd.

Sadly I may be out. There's another event I must attend. Might be able to do both but can't be sure until the day.

Sorry, change of plan for me. I CAN still make the meet at Maranello, but will have to duck out of lunch as I need to pick my son up earlier than expected.

thanks

Guys - I have received a reply back from the events manager at Brooklands and the news isn't very good.
The classic car auction that is happending over the weekend is a much bigger event than I had anticipated and therefore we would not be able to park in the paddock as I had hoped and the members' club will not open either.
To make matters worse, there has also been a change of members' benefits which now puts a limit on the number of people a member can admit. Sadly, that limits me to my family plus two others; meaning there would be an admission charge of £9 for entry.

However, now I have had contact with the mamger at Brooklands, it's clear we could organise a dedicated Maserati event there and have the club bar and a personal guided tour all for a reasonable charge. I suggest that I work on that idea and maybe make it a seperate event at a future date.

So for lunch on Saturday, I will look around for a suitable alternative and post up some thoughts later if that's OK. I will try not to make it a burger bus in the layby of the A3!

This DOES NOT effect the meeting at Maranello!

Regards to all

David

Dear all

Hello I'm a newbie/ lurker in the forums along with the rest of the Anonymous Cowards.

If anyone is driving up from London, can I tag along as I have yet to purchase my/any car ? I just moved back to the UK. Happy to share payment in fuel costs/ buy lunch / name my car after you...

Separately I have been meaning to see the 2 Grandsports for sale at Maranello. Any comments on either car?

Been looking for a Gransport / 4200 for about 2 months now and hope to the trigger on one on saturday.... i can't imagine a better peanut gallery to bring along and advise than the group here......

Regards
Sean

Hi Sean
Welcome along!
Of cause you can join in, as you say, a perfect opportunity to find out more. Where are you based, would you want to be collected or can you make your own way there?
Regards
David

Right, plan B for lunch....

I have found a reasonably priced venue not too far from Egham which can accommodate us for lunch. I have said provisionally 12 places for 1pm, but more places should not prove to be too difficult for them. Confirmation of numbers for lunch would still be very useful, please

Details of the venue can be found here:

Bar & Grill
Wick Road
Englefield Green
Surrey
TW20 0HN
Tel: 01784 477877
Web: www.bargrillenglefield.hcpr.co.uk

I hope this fits in with eveyone, I have had to take a bit of a flyer on this to make sure we could get in at a place we could get to easily!

Regards

David
