Hi all, please any info is appreciated my 4200cc is broke more than it runs. My new problems are it wont start when hot, and wont go into gear??????????
I have taken the fuse out and let it run out of fuel, it will then start when its hot. Thinking fuel pressure does anyone know what the fuel pressure should be?????
It wont go into gear, so i have checked the relay in the boot, as i cant hear the pump when i open the door.
The relay is ok, Is there anything else that is known to be a problem before i take the pump out???
It did flick out of gear into neutral when i was breaking a week before it went alltogether.
Last 3 months £2000 and still throwing money at it.

Sounds like the pump is shot, but its the same as the Alfa unit and if you do a search there is a good post on how to change it on here or on the sister site sports maserati.

Can't help with the pressure figures...sorry

The 2 problems are probably related and suggest the F1 pump has gone titsup but IIRC the red gearbox light also flashes in this situation which you don't mention. Therefore suggest you review the following threads :

hope this helps

Hi Red light is flashing, i have taken the top of the relay above the battery and when the door opens it is not connecting. Has anyone else had this problem?
For some reason i dont think it is the pump. But no doubt will be proved wrong.
Has anyone got numbers for alfa relay please? i was told they are £8.00 instead of £41.00 masar, will they definately fit?

There are 3 types of relay and some of the Alfa parts have too many pins.

Hello Carl

I think you need to see an Indie specialist - if you can get the 4200CC running then make arrangements to drop it off where they have the full diagnostics kit.
If you've put 2 grand into the problem without a solution so far, then a couple of hundred to find out what's wrong ain't too bad.
Let me know how you get on [I've got one too]

Cheers
Paul
