MaseratiForum UK Rules

MaseratiForum.co.uk is an online community of likeminded individuals and in order to keep it running smoothly, legally and in good humour, we kindly ask our members to adhere to the rules outlined below. Please bear in mind that our rules are designed to ensure the site is safe to read and is a pleasant place to be for all members.

If you do choose to break our rules, please be prepared for a polite warning, or if you really don't want to play ball then a ban from the site.

All matters relating to conduct in the forums and compliance with these Forum Rules will be determined by the Administration.

If you see any material on this website which you think does not conform to these standards please do let us know.

These forum rules are in addition to our Terms and Conditions.

1. Registration

Each member is allowed only one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed and doing so may result in a permanent ban.

2. User Names/IDs

1. Do not choose a name/ID that may cause offence to other Users.
2. Please do not use a name/ID that corresponds to an email address or URL for a service that you or anyone else may provide or sell.
3. Please do not use a name/ID that is the same name of a commercial service or product of any kind unless you are an official Sponsor of the site.
4. We recommend that you do not use a vehicle registration as an ID.

3. Member Details

No links to a business please within the Members Details unless you are a Sponsor. Sponsors may post a link only to the business that is sponsoring MaseratiForum UK.

4. Member Profiles' Avatars & Pictures

1. If you are using an avatar or profile picture, please do not use an image or text that could cause offence.
2. If you are using an avatar or profile picture please do not use an image or text that relates to a commercial service or product of any kind unless you are an official Sponsor of the site.
3. Animated Avatars are also not allowed as they distract from the main content of a post.
4. The MaseratiForum UK administrative team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not constitute an inappropriate avatar or profile picture.

5. Signatures

1. No links in signatures unless you are a Sponsor please. Sponsors may post a link only to the business that is Sponsoring MaseratiForum UK.
2. Explicit advertising and soliciting in signatures is also prohibited.
3. Forum Users may post their own pictures with a copyright watermark providing the watermark is designed only to confirm ownership of copyright, and does not show any link or contact info and is not an attempt to market or sell products or services
4. Forum users may post other persons photographs which contain a watermark that may contain a link or contact info providing there is no attempt to market either the photograph or any product/service and the copyright owner is not a member of MaseratiForum UK. Please be aware that in posting such third party images (whether or not they show copyright details) you may be in beach of copyright, for which MaseratiForum UK takes no responsibility.

6. Posting Rules

1. Please do not post anything that may be rude, insulting or offensive in any way.
2. Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the like.
3. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
4. Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private Message system to spam other members.
5. Any post that contains a potentially libellous statement will be removed without notice and the poster may be given a warning via a Personal Message. Continued posts of such a nature may mean the poster will be permanently banned from MaseratiForum UK.
6. Discussion of criminal and illegal activities, including but not limited to, software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed as are links to download locations of copyrighted material.
7. Do not post any illegal or copyrighted material to these forums.
8. We reserve the right to remove any post that we feel is offensive or inappropriate without notice.
9. Personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts are not allowed.
10. We do not allow posts that are racist or sexual in nature or violate MaseratiForum UK community standards. The MaseratiForum UK administration shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards. If you need to post something that could be of a questionable moral content (not all morals are created equal) then please contact us first.
11. While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant thread/post adverts regarding another forum. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other boards.
12. Users remain solely responsible for the content of their messages.
13. Posting personal contact details of any other User without their permission is not allowed and will result in an automatic ban.
14. Do not swear or use any other obscene terms in any language. This includes spelling swear words in a different way or adding other characters to hide letters.
15. Bullying and/or harassment of other MaseratiForum UK users will not be tolerated. Neither will trolling or posting purely to get a reaction.

7. Advertising Rules

1. We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products or services. Explicit advertising and soliciting in signatures is also prohibited.
2. Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private Message system to spam other members.
3. There is a marketplace available. This is only for non-sponsors advertising single items for sale, not for users wishing to sell batches of merchandise or services.

8. Login Security

Do not give out your MaseratiForum UK user ID or password to anyone, and you should not disclose server logins and/or passwords to anyone except through the MaseratiForum UK support system. We cannot take responsibility if you disclose this information to anyone else.

10. Meetings

Maserati Forum is not responsible for any meetings, events or trips that are arranged by its members. All persons are asked to behave themselves on these occasions and to take reasonable precautions.

11. User responsibility

You alone are responsible for any material you post. You will not knowingly post content or links to content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual property rights of any third party and that you will remove the same should you discover that you have violated this provision.

You may also NOT post content or links to content that is libellous, defamatory, obscene, or abusive, that violates a third party's right to privacy or violates any applicable state, local or national law.

You will indemnify MaseratiForum UK, its agents and affiliates from any and all claims brought by any third party relating to content you have posted.

12. Administrative powers

We reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates any of the forum rules, as access to our forums are a privilege and not a right. Any threads/posts of these types may also be deleted or edited.

Whilst the rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

The MaseratiForum UK administration shall be the sole arbiters of what constitutes a bannable offence, and in banning the user(s) the duration of any ban is also at the entirely discretion of the MaseratiForum UK administrative team.

There may be occasions at times of crisis where it may be deemed appropriate to implement an immediate 24 hr ban, but the duration of this ban may be subject to extension after discussion with the MaseratiForum UK administration.

Whilst users may express their opinion to the MaseratiForum UK administration concerning the validity or duration or a ban, excessive abuse of this privilege may be considered harassment, and may incur additional bans.

Please note: Any request to have your account deleted will be declined.

MaseratiForum UK accepts no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on this forum by others. MaseratiForum UK disclaims all warranties with regards to information posted, whether posted by MaseratiForum UK or any third party. This disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall MaseratiForum UK and its owners, directors or members be liable for any special, indirect or consequential loss or damages or damages whatsoever resulting arising in any circumstance.

You acknowledge and agree that you use and/or rely on any information obtained through the discussion forums at your own risk. MaseratiForum UK is not in any manner endorsing the content of the discussion groups and cannot and will not vouch for its reliability.

The disclaimer of liability contained in this section applies to any damages or injury caused by any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, alteration of, or use of record, whether for breach of contract, tortuous behaviour, negligence, or under any other cause of action.

Through your use of this site you agree to indemnify MaseratiForum UK, its affiliates, sponsors, officers, employees and licensors from any claims, proceedings, actions, liabilities, expenses, costs, losses or damage resulting from your use howsoever caused.

MaseratiForum.co.uk has no official association with Maserati S.p.A. All associated Maserati logos, names and images appearing on the site are for nominative and informational purposes only.

14. Law and Jurisdiction

The above Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with laws of the United Kingdom and all Users submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.

Thread Specific Rules:

1. Posting in the 'About Events' Section

1. Please be careful when using the 'About Events' section. It is open to members and non members. Please be aware of this when publicising events; as you never know who is watching.

2. Posting in the 'Maserati Cars' Sections

1. The 'Maserati Cars' sections are for serious Maserati chat and used as a reference/resource facility for members. Please refrain from hijacking threads or posting humorous or personal items in this section. Any such items will be moved/deleted without notice.
2. Posting in 'Technical Q & A' sub-sections will be entirely restricted to the serious technical subject in hand, as it is for the exchange of information only. Periodically, the MaseratiForum UK administration will visit and move all extraneous posts/threads without discussion.

3. Posting in the 'Others' Sections

This is an area where, on a social level at least, our conduct is open to all registered users of this site. It is also available to unregistered users, so please be nice, and if a new user tentatively dips his toe in the water, do not harass, hound or ridicule any user regardless of their situation.
