Tax £250 per year
Service between £350 for a minor to £1,500 major but remember these cars are £££ to run if things go bad, so please do not think it will be cheep.
You should budget about £2,000 per year for things; the cars are old now and although second hand parts can be got you may be stuck with main-dealer or specialist replacemnts if you need the car each day.

Spend a good day reading the site to get an idea what things cost...but if its still within your budget there no cheeper way to this type of smile.

If you look at Grimaldi Engineering's website they have a helpful schedule of pricing, and I think Roberts Aerospace has a similar list. These should give you a feel for the more standard servicing, clutches etc. There are various things to look for to limit your exposure to unforeseens (recent cambelt service, refurb'd throttlebody and new throttle pot, recent clutch if you go for a manual, etc etc)...have a browse on the forum as this has been covered pretty comprehensively.

Hi Mark - welcome to the forum, try the sticky entry on parts this will give you some prices for parts. Costs are clearly dependent on which dealer you use or indeed if you do your own repairs. There are many parts that are reasonably priced, brakes (with the help of the sticky on this site) are not scary prices and not too hard to work on or repair. Suspension can be costly, the shocks can be refurbished but the little control motors are expensive. Lower wishbone ball joints front and rear require new wishbones so these are expensive items. On the manual cars there can be issues with end float, read carefully as this an engine killer and there are no easy solutions, less of a problems with the automatics. The clutch on the manual can be used up in 15k miles so be prepared. The CAM belt while requiring regular replacement, is not an expensive item and garages will charge between 300 and 600 to change one out. The chains at 65,000 miles are a bigger job but a one off (depending on how many miles you intend on doing!). Electrics can be troublesome but parts are generally cheap, with the exception of the throttle bodies and throttle pedal sensors (both prone to problems). Some cars are now showing rust on arches and boot lids and door bottom edge so watch out. I do most of my own repairs and servicing and I spent over £2k last year. Good luck and yes its worth it!!

Old car, hard to say. Anything from £500 to £5000 depending on what goes wrong.

PS You have to scare people with the top end figure. Most people don't ever get there but it is possible to buy a car that can need that sort of work.
